from Chicago Public Schools, and the planning/approval process will last from May 2010 – October 2010. This competitive, rigorous process not only pits other potential school operators against one another, but it also ensures that new schools can truly create a holistic learning environment for community children.
We believe that Avondale Montessori Academy will be a success because it will use proven Montessori-based education principles to provide an intense learning experience. Indeed, youth educated in a Montessori system are some of the highest achieving in the country. This is because a Montessori education contains all of the tools needed to help children reach their highest potential, including self-directed lessons, project-based activities, and cross-content learning.
Unfortunately, private Montessori schools can cost as much as $12,000 per year or more. However, Avondale Montessori Academy’s status as a tuition-free public school means that families will have access to the same high-quality education that has been heretofore unavailable. This is our vision . . . to create a school which prepares students for success in and outside of the classroom regardless of race, color, creed, or financial status.
Please take a few moments to explore our site and learn more about our vision. And as always, please feel to contact us with your comments, questions, or concerns.
